![]() Not saying you might have one but it's something a lot of people overlook. Most people have this parasite and it doesn't cause issues. Took antibiotics and it cleared almost everything up. I found this out via a stool test at my docs. Your situation sounds exactly like me, down to the diets and everything! Probably TMI, but I ended up having a parasite. Personally I switched to frozen spinach, I know it’s a bit gross, but you can mix it nicely with pasta, eggs, rice, and since it’s cut and ‘processed’ it’s not as hard to digest as the fresh and raw version. Maybe if you try eating them a bit more processed they won’t be as bad? I think kale can be a trigger too. I know you’re supposed to soak them, but I never do. Are you prepping them properly? I like to add whole flax seeds to my eggs sometimes, but I find that after a couple days they become too much for my IG track. And lately I’ve begun to develop a sensitivity to soy, so that’s great too. But I went from bloating +2 sizes after lunch to only getting bad gas if I’m near my period.Īlso, garlic and onions seem to be a trigger. It sucks because lentils and chickpeas were perfect extra protein add-ons on my meals, and canned beans always worked on a pinch. It wasn’t until a nutritionist suggested I dropped them for a while that I actually began to feel better. I had this problem during quarantine, when I severely upped my legumes. ( I mean, I can but when every resource tells you to eat chia seeds and kale, you feel like you need to.) ![]() The only days I don't have gas are when I throw nutrition out the window, but I can't properly fuel for 30-40 mile running weeks, strength training, and rock climbing on peanut butter and bread. I don't know how to cut down my fiber intake while still eating a "clean" diet. On average I end my days with 1800-2000 calories, roughly 80g - 100g of protein, and anywhere between 45-55g of fiber. Endless, earth shattering, nostril destroying gas. Many nights I sleep on the couch so my fiance doesn't have to deal with the smell. It's been over a year now and it has not gotten better. I've since gone back to just eating a regular diet filled with whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. (I had hoped Keto would help my depression, and was deep into reading about Keto being great for endurance athletes) This was great until mid marathon training when I had difficulty fueling properly. When I was 28, I tried Keto for a year and a half. I was desperate to make changes (weight related), but what I really needed was more exercise. When I was 24, I ditched vegetarianism for the Paleo diet. I was a vegetarian for 8 years, but dabbled in vegan and the raw diet in there. As someone who suffered from IBS, cutting out meat made a huge difference in my issues. Working for a CSA meant I was introduced to a whole host of vegetables and loved them all. This is not my first rodeo with vegetables.
